Microsoft launch modern.IE – is it too little too late?

A new testing plan covering all the main aspects of testing a site search facility has been added to the Testing Plans & Checklists section.

Site searches are an important feature for many ecommerce and information sites. However, a poor site search can put visitors off, as they can’t find what they are looking for and so leave the site.

This means that testing how your site search facility performs is an excellent way to increase loyalty, improve the user experience and, if you have an ecommerce site, then it is possible to improve conversion rates and average order value too.

The site search testing plan takes you through how to test a site search, what to look out for and includes these points:

  • Ease of finding the site search
  • Carrying out site searches
  • Site search suggestions
  • Advanced searches
  • Ordering of site search results
  • Display of site search results
  • Pagination
  • Site search performance
  • Site search on mobile devices

The site search testing plan is the second to be added to the Testing Plans & Checklists section alongside the ecommerce testing plan.

Let me know what kind of testing plan you would prefer to see next, as the section will continue to be expanded.
