Testing Tool Updates – June 2017

Latest updates from testing tools during June 2017

Testing tools don’t sit still and are constantly adding new features or improving their existing offer. This means that a testing tool you had previously considered may now be worth looking at again.

Here are some of the latest developments:

Mouseflow have announced Session Annotations – you can now annotate session recordings with your comments. This makes it easy to share notes with team members, identify and flag bugs, and communicate the exact location when something noteworthy takes place. Read more about the new feature

Ghost Inspector announced a number of new features including:

  • Email Testing Services – Does your application send emails during your tests that need to be accessed? Our built-in email service now makes it easy!
  • Screen Sizes & Capture – Premium plans now include screen sizes up to 1600×1200 and the ability to capture screenshots throughout tests.
  • CSV Data-Driven Testing – Trigger up to 100 test runs at a time by uploading a simple CSV spreadsheet as a data source for your variables.

Postman, which is great for API testing (we use it at WebDepend), has added a number of new features recently, including:

  • Increase your productivity with keyboard shortcuts
  • Single Sign-On is now available for Postman Enterprise
  • Mock responses by using Examples
  • Restore previous versions of collections in Postman Pro

CrossBrowserTesting have added iPhone 7 running 10.1 available for live testing. CrossBrowserTesting regularly update their device and browser lists for live testing so they are a good bet if you need to test on the latest devices and browsers.

Those are all the updates for this month, hopefully this will become a regularly monthly update.

If you product a testing tool and would like to feature in these regular updates then please let me know.
