“Usability testing is a technique used in user-centered interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users. This can be seen as an irreplaceable usability practice, since it gives direct input on how real users use the system.”
What tools can I use to help me with usability testing?
For websites, usability testing has traditionally been an expensive excercise but carrying out at least some usability is vital in order to understand any issues that users have with using your website. These problems could be to do with understanding what your website is offering, finding information, generally navigating around the site or being able to purchase products.
There now exists a large number of relatively inexpensive, web-based usablity software that can help to identify the majority of issues connected with your website so that you can correct them and increase the number of visitors returning and using your site.
